Privacy notice

This notice explains how DJG Groundworks and Landscaping Ltd (company no. 16806478, registered office 75a Queensway, Sheerness, ME12 1LH) uses personal information given through this website. We are the “controller” of that information. You can contact us at [email protected] or on 07745 638988.

What we collect

When you request a quote we collect your name, email address, phone number, address (if you give it), which service you are interested in, how you prefer to be contacted, a description of the work, and any photos or documents you attach. Photos can show your property and sometimes people, so please only send what is needed.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use it only to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit if you ask for one, and prepare and follow up your quote. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries people send us (Article 6(1)(f)). We do not sell your details, do not use them for marketing, and do not make automated decisions about you.

Who else handles it

We use Cloudflare, Inc. to host this website and to process and store enquiries (including a database and private file storage for attachments) and to check, using its Turnstile service, that a form is being filled in by a person rather than a bot. Enquiry notifications are delivered to our email inbox through Resend, Inc., an email delivery service; the notification contains the details you entered but not your photos. Only authorised members of the DJG team can sign in to view enquiries and attachments. These providers act on our instructions. Some of their processing may take place outside the UK, protected by the safeguards required by UK data protection law. Your attachments are kept private; they are not available through a public link.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and attachments for up to 24 months, then they are deleted. If you become a customer we keep job and accounting records for as long as the law requires. We can delete your enquiry sooner if you ask.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use cookies for tracking, advertising or analytics. The only cookies come from the Google map on the Contact page. When you first visit we ask whether you accept cookies: if you accept, the map loads automatically and Google may set cookies under its own policy; if you decline, the map is not loaded at all (there is a plain link to Google Maps instead). We remember your choice on your own device, and you can change it at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. We count visits to this website with our own simple counter, which stores only anonymous daily totals (which page, a rough source such as Google, phone or computer, and country). It uses no cookies, does not store your IP address and cannot identify you, and visitors who have “Do Not Track” switched on are not counted. Links to Facebook, WhatsApp and Google leave this website and are covered by those companies’ policies.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
